Jules Lund has revealed which TV show he considers his “career lowlight”.
Lund has appeared on several TV shows over the years, including Getaway, Postcards, Torvill & Dean’s Dancing On Ice and Australia’s Funniest Home Videos, but there was one show he hosted that he’d rather forget about … Hole In The Wall.
The game show aired on Channel 9 in 2008 and featured celebrities trying to fit through holes in a polystyrene wall that was moving towards them.
Lund reflected on the program during a chat with Hit NSW brekkie radio show Gawndy & Maz yesterday.
“That is a career lowlight,” Lund said of Hole In The Wall.
“Did you think the show was good when you were doing it?” asked Nic Kelly, who was filling in for Gawndy.
“No,” Lund replied bluntly.
“What’s not to love?” asked radio host Maz Compton.
“Ratings,” Lund joked.
Some of the celebrities who competed on the show include Richard Reid, Jason Dundas, Matty Johns, Giaan Rooney, Scott Cam and Sara-Marie Fedele from Big Brother.
But Lund told the radio hosts that the show struggled to get well-known guests.
“We ran out of celebrities,” he said. “I even brought my cousin in to do one. I’m not even kidding you. He’s not even in the media, it’s just that no one wanted to do it.
“The point is, TV execs saw a viral YouTube clip that should have lasted for a minute, and went, ‘How do we turn this into eight half-an-hour episodes?’” Lund said.
