Sydney students could be homeschooled for up to a month longer unless the current Delta Covid-19 outbreak gets under control.
Students have been told to work remotely this week for the start of term three. The government has been at pains to not say whether this recommendation will roll into next week.
However, 2GB host Ray Hadley said senior teachers were told to prepare for a much longer stint out of the classroom.
“The department of education boffins gathered on the weekend, I’ve got the inside mail,” he said on 2GB.
“They have told principals and teachers, senior teachers, to expect no face-to-face learning for at least four weeks. So if the kids aren’t going back to school for four weeks, I can guarantee that we’ll be in the same position in four weeks time.”
